Finding The Best Heater For the Job
A Parker Boiler industrial thermal liquid heater has helped pave the way to a new and improved veneer process for Thomasville Furniture. The uniquely designed Parker Heater was installed at a Thomasville manufacturing facility in 1993. The application involved heating oil which would be used to heat the upper and lower platens of a veneer press. Since the veneer process involves high temperatures, the Thomasville engineering staff soon ruled out steam from an existing steam plant as a means to heat the veneer press. Start-u time would be too long and it was questionable whether steam could provide the high temperatures necessary to the platens.
“The Parker heater met and exceeded my expectations in terms of start-up, temperature control and maintenance,..”Brent Litwin (Senior Project Engineer)
