ALEX H. CUILTY
1935-2003
VICE-PRESIDENT - MANUFACTURING
Alex H. Cuilty passed away after suffering a heart attack. He was
67 years old and had been with Parker Boiler Co. for over 43 years.
Alex had an early introduction to the boiler business when his father and
uncle often took him along as a helper in their boiler installation and repair
business. In 1959 he began his full time, life time career at Parker Boiler as a
Utility Man working in all departments. He was promoted to assistant plant
manager and in 1968 he became plant superintendent and plant manager. He
was a member of the Board of Directors, Shareholder and in 1980 was elected
Vice-president of Manufacturing.
During his years at Parker Boiler, he educated himself in production
planning and scheduling. He attended night school in mechanical drafting,
ASME Code construction and welding. He mastered the intricacies of piping,
sheet metal, painting, assembly and electrical wiring.
Alex was always Mr. Reliable - you could always depend on him to be there and
take charge. He supervised more people than any other department manager.
He was like a director that coordinated many parts to produce a fine outcome. He
made many improvements in equipment and manufacturing methods. Parker
produced over 100,000 finished products under his supervision. He was
always flexible to put the customers needs first. His dedicated efforts
contributed to make our product one of the best and our present day success
possible.
As Parker Boiler grew and achieved success, Alex always credited those who
worked with him. If he was complimented on production output he always
passed the credit to his fellow employees.
Alex was always confident we would be successful. He said "the secret
of success will always be the people of Parker Boiler. They work hard,
take pride in their work and always put the customers' needs first.
Remember, a company is not about machines, facilities nor product; but, its
about people." He liked people and was well liked by everyone he encountered.
Alex worked, played and lived enthusiastically. It was a pleasure to be
around Alex as he always reflected friendliness, happiness and the good things
of life. He had a unique ability of inspiring fellow employees and friends.
For everybody at Parker Boiler, Alex set a high standard. He will always be remembered for his genuine concern for others, dedication to his family and job, and ability to lead and teach others.
